Stepper motor is a commonly used type of motor. As an open-loop control system, stepper motor is closely related to modern digital control technology. Therefore, stepper motor is often used in digital control systems. So what are the different working states of stepper motors during operation?
1: Static
Static refers to the state in which the rotor of a stepper motor is instantly locked. Simply put, it means that a direct current is passed through the motor control winding and the rotor is in a locked state. When the stepper motor is in this state, the phase current of the motor winding reaches its limit and the winding cannot be replaced. Therefore, at this time, the stepper motor can emit uneven heat in the connected phase. Therefore, this working state is a more severe heating state for the stepper motor.
2: Steady state
Stable synchronous state is also one of the working states of stepper motors. Stable synchronous state occurs when the control pulse frequency is constant. At this time, the rotor of the stepper motor rotates at a constant speed, so this rotation can also be regarded as periodic fluctuations in synchronous speed. At present, the steady-state state of stepper motors is mainly divided into two types: limit and non-polar.
3: Transition state
When the frequency of the stepper motor suddenly changes from zero to the starting state, the rotor speed of the motor will accelerate from zero to the maximum speed for starting. When the control pulse is suddenly interrupted, the stepper motor will also rapidly decelerate from a stable synchronous state to a parking lock. When the motor rotates in reverse, the rotor will also transition from a stable synchronous turntable in one direction of rotation to another stable synchronous state in the opposite direction, thereby transitioning the working state.
The main working states of stepper motors are the above three, and the combination of these three states achieves the advantage of using stepper motors. Under the coordination of these three working states, the stepper motor can operate normally, enabling it to play an important role in different fields.
